We’ve got a big push to get the new Flying Squirrel trail completed so it can be signed off on by the DNR to complete the grant process.  As soon as we get the Squirrel done we can start working on the new Zig Zag and get it opened up!

Please wear closed toe shoes, Hiking/work boots recommended, and bring work gloves and enough water and snacks for 4 hours of work. We’ll work til about 12:30 then eat lunch. Bring your bike, we may ride the stuff we work on afterwards.

Zig Zag trail is temporarily closed for reroutes

The Zig Zag trail will be closed for a few months in order to cut some reroutes and rehabilitate the bypassed sections of the trail.  Please keep in mind that the trail is being rerouted in order to alleiviate some erosion issues and to make the trail more sustainable not to make it easier to ride!  Please check back here for updates on the Zig Zag project.

AFTERMATH! Work Party & Ride Sat. Jan 12th

We had a small but industrious group at the work party today. We managed to finish up the Beginner Trail. This means we’ll be closing the bottom of Rocky Way soon! Lunch at Barberito’s then we rode out and checked out some of the new advanced trail.

On the ride back Robbie almost hits a deer! Two doe moved off the trail but didn’t run off. We all stopped and watched as they contently foraged. One was probably no more than 25′ from us. The other was a little more apprehensive and kept her distance. It was a nice end to a long day! Continue on for pictures!

Our next work party is October 13th! Sorella Cycling will be joining us for that work party!
